If you’re asking about the white spot on something that looked like a tick, the safest approach is not to identify it from the description alone.
A tick can have unusual markings, and some species naturally have pale or white patterns. A photo would be the best way to narrow it down.
If this happened recently:
- Remove the tick promptly if it is still attached, using fine-tipped tweezers and pulling steadily upward.
- Clean the bite area and your hands afterward.
- Don’t crush, burn, or cover the tick with substances while it’s attached.
- If possible, take a clear photo of the tick and keep it in a sealed container or bag for identification.
- Watch for symptoms such as an expanding rash, fever, chills, headache, unusual fatigue, or muscle/joint aches over the following days or weeks.
- If your son develops symptoms or the tick was attached for a significant amount of time, contact his pediatrician and tell them where and when the exposure occurred.
