😂 GRANDMA’S BIRTHDAY VIDEO: THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EFE AND OSahon!
📍 A Family House in Benin City, Nigeria 🇳🇬
It was a beautiful afternoon in Benin City when Mummy gathered the family for a special mission.
Grandma’s birthday was approaching, and she wanted everyone to record a short video message filled with love, prayers, and good wishes.
“Nothing complicated,” Mummy announced, propping her phone against a flower vase. “Just say something sweet. We will send all the videos to her before evening.”
Her eldest daughter, Efe, immediately volunteered.
“Let me go first!”
She stood before the camera, adjusted her hair, checked her appearance, and flashed a beautiful smile.
“Happy birthday to the most amazing woman in the world! Grandma, you have always been my inspiration, my prayer warrior, and my biggest supporter. I pray that God will continue to bless you—”
“CUT!” Mummy suddenly shouted.
Efe stopped speaking.
“What happened?”
“Your brother just walked behind you carrying a bucket!”
Osahon, the family’s last-born son, looked up from the corridor.
“Must I stop living because somebody is recording a birthday message?” 😂
“Go and sit down!” Efe snapped.
Osahon disappeared into the house, muttering something under his breath.
Efe started again.
This time, a neighbour’s generator roared to life, drowning out her beautiful speech.
“Ah! Is this not the day the whole world has decided to disturb me?” she complained.
By the fourth attempt, Efe had changed her position twice, sprayed perfume, adjusted her hair again, and asked Mummy to check whether her face looked tired.
Osahon watched the entire performance from the sofa.
Finally, he couldn’t resist.
“Efe, are you sending Grandma a birthday message or applying for a job?” 🤣
His sister grabbed a cushion and threw it at him.
“Keep quiet!”
Mummy pointed at Osahon.
“And you, young man, don’t disturb her. You will record yours when she finishes.”
After nearly an hour of adjustments, interruptions, and repeated takes, Efe finally completed her message.
She watched it three times before nodding with satisfaction.
“Perfect!” she declared proudly.
Mummy smiled.
“Wonderful. Now it’s your brother’s turn.”
Osahon stood up casually, walked toward the phone, and looked directly into the camera.
Without adjusting his hair, checking his face, or asking for a second take, he began.
“Happy birthday, Grandma. Thank you for always giving me food when Mummy says the kitchen is closed. I pray you live long enough to keep doing it.”
SILENCE! 😭😂
Mummy gasped.
“Osahon!”
He looked confused.
“What? It’s a birthday message!”
Efe burst into uncontrollable laughter and had to sit down.
“Delete it!” Mummy demanded.
Osahon picked up the phone and replayed the recording.
“Grandma will like it. It’s personal.”
“Say something respectful!” Mummy insisted.
Osahon sighed dramatically.
“Okay, Mummy. Let me try again.”
He faced the camera for a second time.
“Happy birthday, Grandma. You are a wonderful woman, and I love you very much.”
He stopped the recording and handed the phone back.
Mummy smiled approvingly.
“See? Was that so difficult?”
Osahon shrugged.
“No. But the first one was more accurate.”
Efe nearly fell off her chair laughing.
“Somebody should please take this boy away from me!” she cried.
Mummy shook her head, but even she couldn’t hide her smile.
📱 THE MOMENT OF TRUTH
That evening, Grandma called the family after watching both videos.
First, she praised Efe.
“My beautiful granddaughter! Your message touched my heart. May God bless you for those lovely prayers.”
Efe smiled proudly.
“Thank you, Grandma!”
Then Grandma asked to speak to Osahon.
“My son,” she said, laughing, “next time you want food, just call me. Don’t wait for my birthday!”
The entire family exploded with laughter.
Osahon turned triumphantly toward his mother.
“I told you, Mummy! Grandma appreciates honesty!”
Efe grabbed a cushion and covered her face.
She had spent nearly an hour trying to sound unforgettable.
Her younger brother had needed less than ten seconds to secure his next invitation to Grandma’s kitchen. 🍗🤣
And just like that, Osahon became Grandma’s favourite birthday-video comedian!
❤️ THE MORAL OF THE STORY
Sometimes, the simplest and most honest words are the ones people remember the longest.
You don’t always need perfect lighting, rehearsed speeches, or impressive vocabulary to express love. What matters most is the sincerity behind your words.
And in every family, there is usually one person who prepares a speech worthy of an award—and another who says one ridiculous sentence that everyone remembers for years! 😂❤️
