Ingredients
-
4 bell peppers (any color)
-
1 lb ground beef or turkey
-
1 cup cooked rice
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
-
1 cup marinara or tomato sauce
-
1 tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
1 tsp Italian seasoning
-
Cooking spray
Instructions
Step 1 – Prepare peppers
Cut the tops off the bell peppers. Remove seeds and membranes. Rinse and pat dry.
Step 2 – Soften peppers (optional)
For softer peppers, microwave them for 3 minutes before stuffing. Beginners can skip this step.
Step 3 – Cook filling
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic until meat is browned. Drain excess fat. Add cooked rice, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well.
Step 4 – Add sauce
Stir in ½ cup of marinara sauce into the meat mixture.
Step 5 – Stuff peppers
Spoon the filling into each bell pepper. Press down gently. Top with remaining cheese.
Step 6 – Preheat air fryer
Preheat air fryer to 360°F for 3 minutes.
Step 7 – Cook
Place stuffed peppers in the air fryer basket. Spray lightly with cooking spray. Cook for 10–12 minutes until peppers are tender and cheese is melted and golden.
Step 8 – Serve
Let cool for 2 minutes. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side.
Pro Tip for Beginners
Do not overfill the peppers. Leave a little space at the top for the melting cheese.
